Meeting the Needs of Heightened Energy Standards

Now past the slow rebound of the recession, the building market is seeing a vast increase in commercial construction projects. As increasingly stringent energy consumption criterion are put in place, and with the pressure of reducing costs, now more than ever high efficacy luminaires are desired.

Per the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), on average 30 percent of the energy consumed in commercial buildings is wasted1. This is one of the reasons the EPA set forth ENERGY STAR, a strict energy efficiency certification program for buildings and products. Luminaires that meet the stringent criteria use less energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in the mitigation of climate change.

Specifying ENERGY STAR luminaires is more than an environmental decision, it’s a business decision. ENERGY STAR products reduce utility costs with many state and local governments, and energy utilities offering partner credits or rebate programs for use of the energy efficient products.

Focal Point ENERGY STAR certified luminaires are designed for residential and commercial spaces, explore them now.
