Patient Zone
Ambient, reading, and examination light levels must be provided over the patient bed and easily controlled by the patient for the first two, and the clinical staff for the latter. Special attention should be given to minimizing glare for the patient, whether in a supine position, where it would be most acute, or in a seated position. Luminaires should also leave the ceiling unobstructed for curtains or medical equipment that may be required to move above the patient bed.
Apollo 8 Patient Bed Pair
Ambient Mode
The ambient mode creates a soft and calming experience for patients, visitors, and staff with glare-free general illumination. Offered as individual units, it promotes a warm and welcoming atmosphere with the same easy maintenance and cleanability as the rest of the Apollo 8 family of healthcare luminaires.
Exam Mode
The tandem luminaire's asymmetric beam distribution provides healthcare professionals shadow-free illumination during examination while minimizing disruption to others in the room. It addresses clinical needs for simple procedures or complex operations with up to 13,000 delivered lumens.
Reading Mode
The ambient and reading functions are dimmable with a low voltage controller (LVC), with step or smooth dimming capabilities. The reading light color temperature may be specified independently from ambient and exam and the precise illumination on a 45˚ reading plane ensures patient and visitor comfort.
