Since its opening in 1979, Boston Consulting Group’s Chicago office has emerged as one of the largest, most diverse and most influential in the firm. With this newest redesign, the firm wanted to take advantage of breathtaking views on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan from high floors of the 300 N. LaSalle building to transform the work experience and spark the creativity of its employees. It did so with an open and transparent floor plan and two large perimeter lounges, the Lake Lounge and the River Lounge, that contribute to connecting the staff with nature and the urban environment that surrounds them.
ID+ 4.5" x 4.5" Downlights have been used throughout the space, including in hallways where they support wayfinding, while Seem 4 Suspended and Seem 6 Recessed provide ample, comfortable light in the work areas and conference rooms. The result is an airy office with sweeping views where natural and electric light are used effectively to ensure the comfort of the users.
