One of the largest integrated music publishing and record companies in the world, with a catalog counting famous artists such as Ray Charles, Creed, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., and James Taylor, Concord Music Group set out to transform its 21,000 square-foot California facility. The dark basement location posed a unique challenge for the design team that set out to bring light into the space, in order to achieve an airy, modern aesthetic.

An open office concept, with modern workstations, frosted glass office walls, and Skydome recessed luminaires contributed to brightening the environment. Strategically scattering various sizes of the circular Skydome into the floating ceilings added rhythm and visual interest, and unified the design while providing general illumination. The hip space earned a IES Award of Merit.
