When Swiss digital cutting equipment manufacturer Zünd was building its new facility in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, the company’s management got concerned with the possible high noise levels resulting from the machines running in spaces with high ceilings and hard surfaces. Having provided equipment for Focal Point, they were aware of our acoustic solutions and brought the idea to the project team. “Our concerns for this space were that it has high ceilings with all hard surfaces. We wanted to use some kind of noise dampening along the ceiling and provide an adequate amount of light,” recalls Chris Nicholson, Director of Customer Experience.

The solution proved to meet expectations, not only with sound dampening performance and light levels, but also, unexpectedly for a production facility, with the look of the Seem 1 Acoustic lit and unlit baffles.

“Everyone who sees this product (employees and customers) is very impressed with how it looks and by how well it works in dampening the sounds of our machines running,” states Nicholson. “After working in our new building for over a year and a half now, I would say that had I known more about these products earlier, I would have used them in other areas of our business. The combination of lighting and sound dampening is just amazing!”

We are glad to see our Seem 1 Acoustic system used with success in a production facility, raising the bar of performance and look, consistent with the aspirations of this renowned Swiss brand.
